NEW YEARS

What had happened was…

Nylon asked if I wanted to collaborate for a New Years Feature – so I went in to their HQ and sifted through their closet to find the best NYE pieces. Was very difficult passing up all the 60’s 70’s era clothes, but I just had to keep telling myself “another day, Ruby…”

Needless to say ALL clothes, earrings, shoes and bags are from the Nylon Shop. Thinking about all the pieces in these looks get’s me too excited to form real sentences so I’ll just say this:

Knife earrings??!! ••• ok… GREEN MUPPET BACKPACK??!! ••• baby pink faux fur coat?!?!!?

I know. It’s all too much.

HAIR.

Amika just opened their new salon Style Blow at 204 Wythe Avenue in Brooklyn. I had this idea that for the shoot my hair would be turned into the numbers “2016” so the night before I made the base out of a dollar store headband, pipe cleaners and sparkly sticker numbers. At Amika’s new salon they were able to not only cover the numbers with my hair – but give me an afro to boot!

Dreams. Came. True.

So happy I got to shoot this at my favorite place in the world, ACME Studio with my favorite person in the world, Philip Maxwell.

What are your dreams for 2016? How are you spending the night?

Xx

You are looking so beautiful. The lipstick shades best suits to you and apart from all the color totally blend with your skin.
